Rose Bowl Parade 2011 will be the 122nd annual event. The first event was staged in 1890 to showcase the areas mild winter climate and flower bloom to the cold ridden east coast residents. The parade now features marching bands, equestrians, and of course, more than 40 flower covered floats.
